Could pls you help me ?
« on: October 26, 2011, 04:51:40 AM »
It is long time not in here. Learning language is really a distance progress.

Recently, I read a passage showing the following sentence:

"It is easy to kill a bird on the wing that flies straight, not so one that twists and turns."

"The gamester never plays the card the opponent expects, still less the one he wants.'

I don't understand the meaning and usage of the underlined part in the above sentence.

Could pls you help me ?

You must be a bot or a new Forum member trying out how to post in the discussion boards. This posting of yours is a verbatim copy of a posting made by Forum member pedestrian way back in July 27, 2011. In any case, madyusa105, to humor you and for the benefit of those who are intrigued by this interesting grammar question, I am providing this link to that posting, "Strange sentence pattern," and my answer to it. Next time, though, please desist from doing this copycat posting in the Forum's discussion boards. They would be a much nicer place without the mess.
