Replying to a thank you email
« on: February 14, 2019, 08:41:38 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I always receive a thank you email and always responded with the usual "you're welcome".
I believe it is impolite if I don't respond even if it's just "Thanks" or "Thanks, benedict".
Am I correct? or I just overthink.

Thank you.

Benedict

No, Benedict, you need not respond anymore to a polite "You're welcome!" rejoinder--unless of course you want to share a new idea or thought. Let the matter end there. A further response could just trigger an unending train of pleasantries that would needlessly take up the time of both parties in the exchange.
