We are pleased to announce that for general-interest news about student life as well as university and college activities, the Forum has opened Campus Scene in the News and Commentaries section. This new page is in response to the increasing number of students and teachers among the Forum’s membership and guests.

Campus Scene announces in its maiden appearance, for instance, the invitation of the University of Santo Tomas to its National Campus Journalism Fellowship scheduled in Manila from October 21 to 23 this year. The page also reports that a multi-discipline student team from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, won the second prize in the KT&G 2010 Asian Students’ Venture Forum competition for its entry, “Language Live,” a concept for online Mandarin language tutorials.

Campus Scene welcomes similar news or feature releases from Philippine-based universities and colleges. For possible inclusion in the page, please send materials by e-mail to jcarilloforum@gmail.com. The page will make every effort to accommodate all timely news releases that are of general interest and significance to the wider student and teaching community.
