Subject: On the May Presidential Elections

it is an accepted fact that the present-day domesticated dog is a descendant of the wild wolf.  through centuries of breeding and training the dog has learned to become civilized and forget its wild instincts of survival.  it waits to be fed instead of hunting and killing to satisfy its hunger.  it has learned to become part of a larger society of animals.

in many human societies, individuals have learned, through centuries of breeding and training, to become civilized and forget its wild instincts of survival.  individuals have curbed their wild instincts of hunting and killing to satisfy their needs.  they have learned to place the survival of the society on a higher priority than the survival of the self and the family.

in some human societies, however, many individuals have not been bred and trained by their powerful elders to curb their wild instincts of hunting and killing to satisfy their needs.  they still place the survival of the self and the family above the needs of the larger human society.  like wolves in the wild their motto is:  damn the rest as long as i can grab the best!

the filipino society is now faced with the awesome task of choosing a leader to ensure its continuing survival.  what kind of individuals are they choosing from?  have they been trained by their powerful elders to place the survival of the larger society on a higher priority than the survival of their selves and families?  assuming that they do choose such a leader, would the gang of petty leaders surrounding him or her be likewise civilized?  will they work for the  survival of the society or just themselves and their families and friends?  will they work for the common good?  have there been solid examples of their actions in the past that they have worked for the common welfare?  what are they?  can you look around and show solid proofs of those actions?  are things better today than they were in the 1950's, the glory years of filipino society before things went on a downward spiral with a government run like hell by filipinos, as foretold by quezon and rizal?

are you choosing a wild wolf to lead a pack of wild wolves?  are you choosing a domesticated dog to lead a pack of wild wolves?  or are you choosing a domesticated dog to lead a pack of domesticated dogs?  which do you believe is the choice you are making come may?  what difference will it make in the future survival of the ship of state?  will things change after the may elections?  why would you think so?

cheers,
bobby
Nice piece of work!

For me i would choose the K9 who has reached what it needs to become less abusive, greedy and furious.

I would elect the one who has become eager to serve the common good instead of his own.

Sen. Manny Villar's success in business with a P50 billion net worth and having led both houses of Congress, he indeed has already achieved that status. He and his family will survive no matter if he wins the election or not.

Sen. Villar is not beholden to anyone since he used his own earnings to propel his candidacy and he doesnt need to wory about the influence peddling by his own family members unlike the others who are "burdened" by this very strong compelling force.

For the rest, they are still at the stage wherein they desire the powers of the presidency, not to really serve the people, but to simply fix their own interests and put up protection mechanisms, by inserting amendments into our laws and using the powers and influence a President weilds.

In today's list of candidates, it is Sen. Manny Villar who holds the status with the least desire to use those powers in order to survive or to "plunder" just like his predecessors.

Morever, his feats in business and in Congress are proof of his capacity to really lead and bring forth achievements.

That's the leadership skills that all leaders must possess.

To sum it up, Sen. Manny Villar is the safest and best bet for now.

Your Thoughts Exactly / VOTING WISELY

VOTING WISELY

Many are saying it is better to support someone who is unblemished with even the lightest stain of corruption that will cast a doubt on his capacity to rule. They say that from a leader who possesses this quality, economic progress and all the good that comes with it, good governance, shall follow.

I as well absolutely believe this.

The only matter that concerns me the most is them seemingly fooling their own selves just to make them believe that they have already found that person in a certain candidate simply because of reasons founded on narrow perspectives. Many people today really do not know enough about their candidates.

Perhaps, even if they do know much enough, they turn their eyes blind to the facts that contradict what they have loved to believe or what they wish to believe. In some aspects, their ego compels them to accept the lie and even letting their conscience to yield lest they lose their face with the people who are aware of their status in their own turf or perhaps what you may call their own comfort zones.

They prefer to comfort themselves with lies and ignore the guilt than embrace humility and allow the truth to set them free. Worse, many have allowed themselves to be swallowed by the same system that is ruled by money, which is both the patriarch and offspring of all greed.

Let’s not forget that the presidency is 6 years long. It’s either 6 years or good life or 6 years of hardship and oppression. It is essential that we do not simply place our bet on candidates who speak sweet words, promising heaven and earth, but with no solid proof of his capacity to support these.

Worse, he employs or allows his gangs to employ dirty tactics to dampen his rival’s candidacy. He even borrows fame or character from other people just to embellish his inferior capacity to take upon the demanding role of leading this country that is burdened with complex problems and impoverished with opportunities for good life.

Fellows, we can still realize this good life for most Filipinos if not all, but it must all start from casting our vote through our wisest decision. Let’s not simply believe every word these candidates say. Words are cheap anyway.

The safest strategy is to look at what they achieved for the country in the past. The achievements first, then analyze discreetly and with your indifferent conscience the allegations hurled against a candidate if these indeed bear weights against his capacity to take upon the highest post in this country.

Be very smart since it is expected that rivals will try to shroud the remarkable achievements of any candidate with allegations of corruptions and even inventing acts of abuse or crime that can shroud all the good he has done and the good in him.

SIGNS OF A GOOD LEADER:

1) Has shown remarkable achievements while rising up the ladder of success in his chosen field.

2) Has shown remarkable achievements in the field of expertise he has been into prior to his current environment.

3) Has a good education.

4) Has a laudable family background.

5) Has no lust for excessive wealth or extravagant life.

*** People who are already very rich like the multi-billionaires don’t necessarily need to steal anymore. Also, those who came from poverty and eventually got rich out of hard work will normally “desire” to give back to the poor a part of their success as their own way of thanking God and this life for the success they have been blessed bountifully with.

For those who have been rich from the start it doesn’t really matter at all. They are usually obsessed with status or rankings and will simply keep the wealth to themselves and normally amass more wealth to keep on beating other’s prestige or level in that line of competition.

Example and living proof of very rich people who came from poverty and have shared their wealth to the people as a token of appreciation to the Gods and this world that gave them so much blessings are John Gokongwei.

6) People who can serve the people well are those who understand them by heart, especially those who have been in the same place while they were starting out.

WARNING SIGNS:

1) Empty words like “lalabanan ko ang kurapsiyon” or “lalabanan ko ang kahirapan”  that are not backed by remarkable achievements in the past.

2) Candidates who rides on other people’s fame, honor or achievements.

3) Candidates who have a conflict of interest with the public. (logging companies, landlords, big businesses like in telecommunications, water and power companies, big financial institutions, )

4) Employs dirty tactics during the campaign.

5) Surrounded by influence peddlers, usually from his family circle or associates, who have shown the said motive and action in the past. As I quote a World Bank's perception on our politicla system;

"the weakness of the Philippine state “stems from the effective control by interest groups of the state machinery, such that rule-making and enforcement serves not the general welfare but particular interests.”

In all these, … don’t simply read, listen or watch.

Do your own analysis and then make your wisest decision.

The essential characters are INTEGRITY, WISDOM and DETERMINATION.
Wisdom or capacity must bear the highest point because it shall make up the performance level of a leader.  It should also be supported by one’s desire to really serve. We can put that against the pattern of similar people who have done the same.

Integrity is the hardest to measure since anybody can say anything heavenly just to convince or fool you to believe what they are trying to put across. Moreover, when considering the factor on integrity for the top leadership, if it's all that but without the solid proof of his capacity to rule effectively, then it is worthless. If he is that clean, then why not run a religious sect and advocate clean living instead?

King Solomon and Joseph weren’t just servant leaders for God Almighty but were endowed with wisdom as well.

A leader must have the wisdom to realize the appropriate solutions to the country's complex problems. He must know how to sense or feel the public's concerns that must be addressed to uplift the living conditions or the latter. He "must be able" to really do something about it and really act upon it.

Integrity with no solid proof or the capacity to lead is never enough. It is highly suggested that advocates with his greatest character in a suitable line of work.

The greatest question is, “is he really clean?”. Retrace the articles distributed across the Internet and make your own assessment. So, you don’t get fooled by their sweet words and dirty ploys.

Again, do your own analysis and then make your wisest decision.

God bless us all.

Leadership like the presidency requires one to possess the qualities needed to be an effective leader.

This includes gaining full control of the needed resources that you will utilize in order to function effectively as a leader.

You also need the support of the people or sectors who have a share in the decision-making or who have a part in the implementation of the tasks laid out. This clearly means "all the stakeholders". It may not be possible to have them all by your side but at least you should have the bigger number.

The powers stated in the 2nd paragraph, are handed down to the leader from the time he or she is sworn into office. All the powers and privileges are automatically inherited, so to speak.

The third is actually the result of what he has been and how he has performed as a public servant prior to his assumption of the presidency.

So the biggest question lies in the QUALITIES of the man eyeing the presidency.

1) Integrity

*** not corrupt or he is not ruled by his greed for money and power or someone who depends on God Almighty.

2) Wisdom  (broad-minded or intelligent ... plus smart as well)

*** intelligence basically means the amount of knowledge you hold. Being smart on the other hand is the ability to perceive the relationship between different sets of information or knowledge.

3) Determination

*** the courage fired up by his integrity and which is sustained by his wisdom as well to keep on despite the odds and failures

You cannot simply be a leader simply because you know something or that you come from a well known family like that of Ninoy Aquino or Ferdinand Marcos.

Ferdinand Marcos for his wisdom while Ninoy Aquino for his determination and integrity.

To really measure the presidentiables, you need to look at their achievements.

Don't get fooled by those "words of a saint" lines. It comes cheap.... but will surely get a lot from you (not do a lot for you) later on when you give in to their deceptive tongues and outfits.

Look at their achievements in the past years. That alone will tell what kind of a man they really are.

Look at their capacity to create great ideas too.

These include government projects aimed at improving the lives of the general public and supporting laws that will set the rallying point to such endeavors.

Laws like protecting the environment, health and education programs (free college or similar options), livelihood programs (soft financing, free technical training) and less taxes for the individual worker but without crippling the government's internal revenues.

There are a lot of projects that can be done to uplift the lives of people.

WE NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN IDENTIFY THOSE IDEAS AND WHO CAN REALLY PUT THOSE IDEAS INTO ACTION.

Now, let your heart and mind guide you in your decision.

Please, think about the 3 qualities as much as possible when you cast your vote.

How do we know if one possesses those 3 qualities (Integrity, Wisdom, Determination)?

One is by seeing how successful one has become. Especially, one who made it to the top from a nobody or with nothing in possession but without having resorted to evil.

These people have 2 things in common.  WISDOM and DETERMINATION.

God's mercy's part is the "big opportunity" that they could tap into.

Again, let your heart and mind guide you in your decision and please think about the 3 qualities as much as possible.

Our voting power can do a lot for the next 6 or 11 years. Let's make the best out of it.

In the end, it's your own analysis and conscience or choice that will tell you where to cast your vote for.

In all these, at least I have done my part as how my heart wants me to and will gladly accept the next President whoever that may be, believing that it's God
Almighty who wanted him there.

and say NO to Parliamentary Government!

Our voting power is the greatest empowerment our constitution has vested upon us!

Let's not lose it.

It's our only hope to changing the color of our politics.

It's like a giant flashflood that sweeps across the land to bring forth new life and direction.

To help our people recognize that person they must look at the capacities of that person if he can really deliver.

Words are cheap like "lalabanan ko ang kurapsiyon" or "lalabanan ko ang kahirapan."

Anybody can say that. So, the solution is identify who can walk his talk.

One way is looking at his achievements. It is the measure of his determination and skills.

We must not keep silent on the issues.

We need to voice out what we feel...

because the presidency is a matter of our lives too.

After all the volley of black-propaganda, we now know who's the better one.

Freedom of the press is working at its best!

Our chosen candidate may not the cleanest and most honest, but his achievements, his capacity to lead and govern, the general public perception on him, the influence-peddlers around him, his own "kamag-anak" incorporated and his indebtedness to those who provided funds for his campaign have given us the measurements that we can rely on in knowing the man and what he will become after the promises and stage acts have culminated into the election result.

In all, the safest way to elect a president is to the one who is not beholden to anyone and who does not have a horde or influence-peddlers around him and who does have a clan, who's craving for power and money, of his own that he is obligated to consult when there's a conflict of interest.

We need someone who doesn't need to murder the powerless just to protect his wealth and greed.

God bless us all.
