a. Do the two sentences below have the same meaning? It's because my American friend said that these two words aren't interchangeable at all or even in the situation given below.

1. I am seeing a movie tonight.

2. I am watching a movie tonight.

b. Am a incorrect saying: "Could you please "look" at my bag because I am going to the toilet?"?

My friend said that the correct way is by using the word "watch" only instead. "Could you please "watch" my bag because I am going to the toilet?"

Thanks

Use and Misuse / "Which" and "that."
« on: October 21, 2011, 01:39:55 PM »
Can we use either "which" or "that" in the two sentences below?

1. Apple Inc. is an American computer hardware and software company (that/which) produces Apple desktop computers, the MacBook and iPhone mobile phones.

2. Apple Inc. is a public company (that/which) is listed on the NSSDAQ.

I would prefer "that" in Item 1 and "which" in Item 2 but just do not know the rules governing them.

Thanks

Are native speakers of English correct when they say the following sentences?

1. There's only 5 classes on the second floor.
2. There's many students not attending their classes.
3. There's only 2 classes I got today.

Maybe, I am not just used to it? Maybe, I missed out this lesson at school? I am really confused on this matter.

Is the "...15 days sick leave...," correct in the paragraph below?

In terms of benefits, Cao mentioned the 15 days sick leave benefit for the faculty that may be monetized upon retirement, the Financial Assistance Program for Hospitalization Expenses in the amount of P200,000 per employee and the additional 10 percent discount at the Philippine General Hospital on top of the 20 percent discount for government employees.

Thanks.
