Ms. Aurora Riel-Grimes in North Carolina sent in by e-mail last Sept. 26 this feedback about a Filipino columnist’s English:
I think it was a columnist named Manalo who said that jueteng lords/sponsors should be “persecuted” rather than “prosecuted.” Of course, speaking in earnest, I believe they probably deserve both, but I believe this was plain error in the English vocabulary of that columnist.
