Maxsims, I'm sorry but I couldn't figure out what you mean by "lend." It must be an idiolect Down Under, for I couldn't find any meaning for it as a noun in my Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate. I'd appreciate it if you could explain its meaning.

"Having a lend of" means to take advantage of another's willingness to believe, usually in a humorous manner.    The more gullible you are, the better it works.!

Thanks, maxsims, I learned a new idiom today! Maybe Chris is indeed having a lend of us but I really don't mind at all. A little plug for one's professional outfit--especially if its business is also English--does the Forum no harm. We have the same objective after all.
