Title: recent posting
Post by: thompsonwscott on December 20, 2011, 02:07:50 PM
arguably, the posting misuses 'continuously' as in improving English.  i think 'continually' is what is indicated.  continuous, tho this is not 100% absolute, means u r doing nothing else.  'continually' improving english would imply that one improves it when it's relevant.  one continuously drives carefully. one continually keeps in mind the need to improve grammar.
in 2008 hillary clinton made 2 bloopers in one sentence.  i cited her comment to FVR, who replied, '2 mistakes.'

To put your comments about the usage of "continuously" in context, please indicate or quote the particular postings where you've seen that adverb used; also, please tell us what "FVR" means. This way, Forum members can respond to this posting of yours with a clear understanding of what you have mind. Thanks!
