Sir Joe,

'ELICOS' stand for the first letters of Australia's 'English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students':

ELICOS programs have been designed for students who require English language training before commencing formal studies in Australia. There are other English language programs that a student can do, but the Australian government has an official ELICOS student visa especially for students who do one of these courses
.

I am lucky to have a sponsor here to help while I study for more IELTS results.

My instructor just made her remark after I showed her 'sleighs of the mind' on this site.  She then read all the post.

Too, I showed her your reply.   She found two errors in it ('important' should be 'importantly', and 'his or sentiments).

So many errors in such a short space.   I will find another on-line tutor.

My ELICOS teacher says there is a mistake in:

.....candidates whose main preoccupation these past many months is to subvert the ban on premature election campaigning, assiduously endorsing all sorts of consumer products in various advertising media (herbals, house paints, generic drugs, instant noodles, dressed chicken, luncheon meat, even designer tea) to boost their face-recall and name-recall.

He says the bracketed list should be placed after 'consumer products', not after 'various advertising media'.

Also, what does 'sleighs of the mind' mean?

Thank you.
