NAVIGATING JOSE CARILLO’S ENGLISH FORUM WEBSITE

We are presenting this site navigation guide to make your visit and participation in Jose Carillo’s English Forum as productive, pleasant, and hassle-free as possible.

To begin with, please take note that this website has two distinct parts: the Front Page or Homepage, and the Forum Proper. You can view some of the contents of this site without necessarily entering the Forum Proper; when you click a tab on the Front Page, in particular, you will generally be led to the introductory page of that particular section. To go directly to the Forum Proper, you need to log in if you are already a registered member, or to first register if you are not yet a member. Only registered members who have logged in can reply to any of the posts inside the Forum Proper or make a new topic themselves.

You can ask specific questions, answer any question for which you feel you have a good answer, or agree or diasagree with any statement made in any of the current posts. You can post a response to an existing topic by clicking on the “Reply” tab, and create a new topic of your own by clicking on the “New” tab.

Badly Written, Badly Spoken – This section serves as grammar police against blatant or grievous grievous public misuses of English. It entertains contributions in the form of photographs, transcriptions, or descriptions of blatantly wrong English usage in public media like billboards, newspapers and magazines, print and broadcast advertising, and books. Your comments to the postings on this page are also most welcome. Please send contributions in the form of images, PDF files, and the like by e-mail to jcarilloforum@gmail.com.

Joe Carillo’s Desk

Getting to Know English - Joe Carillo explains why some people are prone to writing grammatically problematic English. Continuing lessons on “Plugging the Gaps in our English” will be presented on this page on a weekly basis. You can respond to or ask questions about the lessons by clicking the "Reply" tab inside the Forum.

The tab for “Getting to Know English” on the Front Page has four submenus that allow access to their content directly without going into the Forum Proper. These submenus are as follows:
