The issue of speaking in tongues is something that has caused controversy in Christian bible study . Some say that speaking in tongues is real, and others don’t accept it.  What is speaking in tongues? Speaking in tongues is not speaking unintelligible words to people.  Speaking in tongues is the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit, which allows men to be understood in all languages at once. What is commonly seen in churches today is how on occasions, supposed men and women of God speak unintelligible gibberish to people. Are they speaking in tongues? The answer is: No! I can tell you that up until today, I’ve yet to find a verse in the Christian sermon that says Jesus or the apostles spoke gibberish or unintelligible words to the people.
