Title: Gender-blind photo caption
Post by: Joe Carillo on March 29, 2010, 11:28:21 PM
My wife Leonor called my attention tonight (March 29) to this telltale sign of English gender-blindness in the caption of a Filipina movie star's photo in the Philippine edition of Yahoo News. Check if you can spot the grammar blind spot:

Angel admits rift with her father (http://ph.news.yahoo.com/abs/20100329/tph-angel-locsin-bares-rift-with-pa-over-85c5a6c.html)
Angel Locsin, known as a very loving daughter to his blind father, admits they recently had a rift.

^_^ Funny. I wonder why in the world the writer overlooked the usage of the pronoun here.

Perhaps the writer was thinking that Angel Locsin swings either way. hahahahaha!!!

I wonder why the editor didn't see it. Well no one is perfect but better review it next time.
