Stop learning grammar.
« on: April 17, 2016, 03:42:00 PM »
Hi guys,

I don't know where to post this.
But I recently watched a youtube video.
And the native English teacher suggested stopping learning grammar rules.

Here is the link to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFZI3qj3vvg

So what is your opinion to this?
Joe?

Thanks in advance.

If you saw my grammar is wrong, then correct me if I'm wrong. This is why I'm here to learn English.

I think that's just an attention-getting generalization. Of course English-language learners shouldn't stop learning English grammar. They need to make a continuing effort to study both its usage and its grammar--vocabulary, syntax, structure, pronunciation, idioms, figurative expressions--to get truly fluent in both written and spoken English. As with learning any language other than one's mother tongue, no "stop this-stop that" approach will really work.

I think learning grammar is the formal way.

Well said.
Learning grammar is the right, proper and formal way to understand English
and to know the deepest meaning of each syntax and format of words, phrases, sentences etc...
If you saw my grammar is wrong, then correct me if I'm wrong. This is why I'm here to learn English.
