Not really bad English, but…

This picture was shared with me by Max Sims, a Forum member based in Australia. There’s really nothing wrong with the grammar of this road sign in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, but don’t you think there’s something horrifying about its totally detached, dispassionate semantics?

Is this even real? Can anyone really hike here? It's hilarious. For me the picture provokes a question that's totally not related to this topic. This will be great to promote a certain product, like, let me think, Mentos, the candy.

  I don't know if it's just me, but in the photograph, the sign appears to be edited. Besides, no one would really follow that sign even if it was true.

I agree with you, if you are going to look at the sign carefully, it looks as if it's edited. Any reactions from the computer savvy Forum members here?  If the sign is true, I don't think anyone would go hiking to that place.

I think, the original sign was "STOP, Crocs crossing!".

Another annoying thing is when I hear people start their sentence like this:
1. "Myself and my friend David are having difficulty..."
2."Me and my husband David are not courting publicity..."
3."It's hotting up in the stadium..."
4. When interviewing people, the respondent begins his/her sentence with
the phrase, "I mean..."but he or she hasn't said anything yet to begin
the sentence with "I mean..."
Example: "Good morning, Miss Apple. What do you think of these mangoes?"
Miss Apple replies: "I mean..well, they are sweet..."
